Glide On The Peace Train
The other day at work, while diligently plying away on an interface design, I just happened to notice that I was singing the (artist formerly known as) Cat Stevens’ tune “Peace Train“ to myself. Not out loud (thankfully), but to myself – in my head. This is just another example that reinforces the fact that “we don’t think; thinking happens to us“. No?
It may be scary to some to discover that thinking unconsciously and automatically happens to us, but the saving grace is that at least we can consciously choose how to react to those thoughts. Well, most of the time. Well, some of the time?
What was the last song you sang to yourself?

You have a good point there. I am a fan of Cat Stevens 🙂

What was the last song you sang to yourself Lorraine?
I have to think about that! Nothing comes to mind straight away. I have a 50km drive to work and like to sing along with the CD’s as radio reception is pretty bad. I think I was listening to Carole King the other day 🙂
Just the other day, “Morning Has Broken” was playing in the MP3 player in my mind, as a several stakeholders at a client had objections and counter-proposals to a Statement of Work that had been signed at the end of the previous week. But then the station changed to Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall” Tip of the cap to the Cosmic DJ
What a coincidence! Cat Stevens again. Plus, “Another Brick In The Wall” is playing in my mind as I write this reply: “Ya can’t have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat!”
Don’t sing. I replay movies in my head. Usually Blade Runner or Caddyshack.
Occasionally there’s a hodgepodge of Monty Python skits or a random Star Trek episode as well.
But nothing racier than those, right?
well…now that you mention it…
( is sponge bob racy?)
I also keep http://www.radioparadise.com streaming 24/7 so there’s never any extra room for singing on my phone anyway.
